Roadside Service Technician, Battery
About The Position
As a Roadside Battery Technician for AAA Oregon/Idaho, you will operate a AAA-owned service truck throughout the Portland metro area and respond to roadside assistance requests from AAA members. You will provide service intended to help members resolve roadside issues safely and efficiently, including tire changes, fuel delivery, battery service, and minor mechanical repairs. You are responsible for creating a safe environment for yourself, your teammates, and the members you serve, and for completing each service call thoroughly, professionally, and with sound judgment. The role calls for a sense of urgency, technical skills, safe work practices, and a commitment to helping others and creating positive member experiences. The position is based at the Portland Fleet location in southeast Portland off I-205. Day, mid, and swing shifts are available depending on availability.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of driving experience and an excellent driving record.
- Valid driver's license; a CDL is not required.
- At least 2 years of customer service experience.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Successful completion of criminal and DMV background screenings, employment verification, and a pre-employment drug screen, including cannabis.
- Ability to balance, bend, kneel, and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Self-motivation, a strong sense of urgency, and a desire to help others.
- Ability to problem solve and remain calm, professional, and safety-focused under pressure.
Nice To Haves
- Automotive repair or technology experience.
- Tow experience; training is provided.
- English/Spanish bilingual skills; additional pay is available for bilingual skills.
