Roadside Service Technician, Battery
About The Position
As a Roadside Battery Technician for AAA Oregon/Idaho, you will operate a AAA-owned service truck throughout the Portland metro area, responding to roadside assistance requests from AAA members. You will provide exceptional service while helping members resolve roadside issues safely and efficiently. Services include tire changes, fuel delivery, battery service, and minor mechanical repairs. You are responsible for creating a safe environment for yourself, your teammates, and members, and completing every service call thoroughly with professionalism, sound judgment, and a commitment to safety. The role is important to AAA’s roadside assistance service and its member experience.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of driving experience and an excellent driving record.
- Valid driver's license; a CDL is not required.
- Successful completion of criminal background screening, DMV background screening, employment verification, and a pre-employment drug screen, including cannabis.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- At least 2 years of customer service experience.
- Ability to balance, bend, kneel, and lift up to 75 pounds.
- Self-motivated, with a strong sense of urgency and a desire to help others.
- Ability to problem solve and remain calm, professional, and safety-focused under pressure.
Nice To Haves
- Automotive repair or technology experience.
- Tow experience; an excellent training program is provided.
- English/Spanish bilingual skills; additional pay is available for bilingual skills.
Responsibilities
- Operate a AAA-owned service truck throughout the Portland metro area.
