About The Position

AAA Cincinnati is hiring dependable and empathetic Roadside Assistance Technicians to assist members with services such as flat-tire changes, battery jump starts, lockouts, fuel delivery, mobile battery service, towing, and vehicle recovery. Technicians work primarily from a service vehicle and outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role requires safe vehicle and equipment operation, effective communication with members, accurate use of in-truck technology, and completion of required inspections and reports. Tow Technicians provide towing and recovery services; Mobile Battery Technicians sell, install, test, and perform battery warranty services. The position is full-time on the second shift, includes weekends, and offers a 10% shift differential. The fleet location is 800 West 5th Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45203.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license for the state of residence and maintenance of all applicable state and local licensing requirements.
Ability to pass a physical examination as required by the Department of Transportation and/or company policy.
Satisfactory pre- and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and motor vehicle screenings.
Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds; bend, kneel, and balance to change tires, inspect vehicles, and push vehicles; and use hand tools.
Ability to operate passenger vehicles and light- to medium-duty trucks with manual and automatic transmissions while primarily working from a service vehicle.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, by email, and using assigned technology such as GPS.
Successfully complete required departmental training within 60 days of hire and additional training as required; schedule adjustments may be needed to attend training.

Nice To Haves

Three years of experience in an automotive or mechanical environment, or technical school training, or at least three years of experience in sales and/or customer service is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide lockout, fuel delivery, battery jump-start, and tire-change services according to established guidelines and quality control procedures.
Provide towing and recovery services according to established guidelines and quality control procedures, for Tow Technician roles.
Sell, install, and test batteries and perform battery warranty services, for Mobile Battery Technician roles.
Communicate effectively with members to keep them informed and ensure their safety.
Make sound decisions about safe vehicle service and accommodate member needs.
Accurately enter call information into in-truck technology, process payments, handle cash, and complete required reports.
Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in safe operating condition and meet requirements.
Keep the fleet vehicle and equipment adequately secured at all times, including when the vehicle is not in use.
Support AAA promotional events, including parades and television, radio, and social media activities.
