About The Position

AAA is hiring Roadside Assistance Truck Drivers, Tow Technicians, and Mobile Battery Technicians for its Fleet Team in Perrysburg, Ohio. Technicians assist members in a range of weather conditions by providing roadside services such as changing flat tires, jump-starting batteries, and towing vehicles. This role is suited to dependable, empathetic people who enjoy helping others and are comfortable working outdoors. The position is full-time, with first- and second-shift openings. Both shifts include weekends, and second shift receives a 10% shift differential. Work is primarily performed from a service vehicle. Paid training is provided, and uniforms and tools are supplied. Compensation is listed at $19.95 to $22.30 per hour, depending on the position and candidate experience. Associates may also receive overtime during peak season and monthly bonuses with the potential to earn an additional $300–$500 per month.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license for the state of residence and ability to maintain applicable state and local licensing requirements.
Ability to pass a physical examination as required by the Department of Transportation and/or company policy.
Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 pounds; bend, kneel, and balance to change tires, inspect vehicles, and push vehicles; and use hand tools to provide service.
Satisfactory pre- and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and motor vehicle screening.
Ability to operate passenger vehicles and light- to medium-duty trucks with manual and automatic transmissions.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, by email, and using assigned technology such as GPS.
Successfully complete required departmental training courses within 60 days of hire and additional future training as required; schedule adjustments may be needed to attend training.

Nice To Haves

Three years of experience in an automotive or mechanical environment, or technical school training.
At least three years of experience in sales and/or customer service.

Responsibilities

Provide lock-out, fuel delivery, battery jump-start, and tire-change services according to established guidelines and quality-control procedures.
Provide towing and vehicle-recovery services according to established guidelines and quality-control procedures when working as a Tow Truck Driver.
Sell, install, and test batteries, and perform battery warranty services for members when working as a Mobile Battery Technician.
Communicate effectively with members, keeping them informed and ensuring their safety.
Make sound decisions about vehicle service safety and accommodate member needs.
Accurately enter call information into in-truck technology, process payments, handle cash, and complete required reports.
Inspect vehicles and equipment to ensure they are safe to operate and meet requirements.
Secure the fleet vehicle and its equipment at all times, including when the vehicle is not in use.
Support AAA by participating in special events, including parades and television, radio, and social media activities promoting the brand.
