The RN Unit Manager for SNF Houses is responsible for the overall functioning of the long-term care houses, overseeing 50 beds over a 24-hour period in conjunction with the Nursing Supervisors. This role involves managing daily activities, delegating duties to house staff to ensure continuity of care, monitoring staff for policy adherence and identifying training needs, and supervising scheduling to maintain adequate nursing coverage. The Unit Manager also provides input for performance evaluations, inspects houses for compliance with standards, and acts as a liaison between medical staff, families, and administration regarding patient care issues and events. Additionally, the position ensures completion of assessments, assigns staff to in-service training, and may provide facility supervisory shift coverage as needed. The role requires adherence to ethical standards, the facility's corporate compliance plan, and confidentiality of protected health information.
