About The Position

Provides direct patient care in a designated specialty unit in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and the organization’s policies, values, and mission. The role requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, minimal supervision, and the ability to take appropriate action in a stressful environment. The nurse plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on assessment; monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition; and supports patient and family learning needs with appropriate education. The nurse collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care, including disposition, referrals, and spiritual or psychosocial support. The position may include delegating care to ancillary personnel and precepting student nurses or new hires.

Requirements

Completion of an accredited nursing program.
A current Registered Nurse license from the State of Florida or a Registered Nurse Compact License.
One year of nursing experience.
BLS certification from an accepted provider/credential type listed in the posting.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required for ICU roles.
Critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

Delegate patient care effectively to ancillary personnel.
May precept student nurses and new hires.
Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
Monitor, document, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Evaluate patient and/or family learning needs and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, and spiritual and/or psychosocial support needs.
