About The Position

Miller’s Health Systems is hiring a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to work as a Charge Nurse. The Charge Nurse is responsible for nursing care of patients during their shift, follows each patient’s Comprehensive Care Plan, and assists the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate patient-record documentation when needed. The role also supervises direct resident care personnel on the shift.

Candidates should be licensed nurses in Indiana who are passionate about serving others, professional in appearance and behavior, and able to work with a dedicated team. Requirements

• Currently licensed and registered to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Indiana; the posting accepts Registered Nurses or Licensed Practical Nurses.
• Successfully complete the pre-employment process and screening.
• Pass the physical examination required for employment at the facility.
• Maintain a professional manner and appearance.
• Know nursing policies and procedures; medication administration and possible side effects; treatment administration; and local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to resident care.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and residents’ physical, psychological, social, and medical needs.
• Understand the organizational structure and duties of employees supervised by the Unit Manager.
• Demonstrate competence in supervision and leadership.
• Have a caring attitude, be observant, and exercise good judgment and emotional stability.
• Foster and maintain good working relationships with other staff.
• Be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues (Exposure Category I).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients during the assigned shift.
• Follow patients’ Comprehensive Care Plans.
• Assist the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in patient records when needed.
• Supervise direct resident care personnel on the shift.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with nursing policies and procedures and applicable laws and regulations.
