About The Position

Miller’s Health Systems is hiring a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to work as a Charge Nurse. The Charge Nurse is responsible for nursing care of the patients on their shift, follows each patient’s Comprehensive Care Plan, and assists the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate patient-record documentation when needed. The role also supervises direct resident care personnel on the shift. The position is a weekend option with hours of 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Requirements

• Currently licensed and registered to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Indiana.
• Successfully complete the pre-employment process and screening.
• Pass the physical examination required for employment at the facility.
• Demonstrate a professional manner and appearance.
• Have knowledge of nursing policies and procedures; medication administration and possible side effects; treatment administration; and local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to resident care.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and residents’ physical, psychological, social, and medical needs.
• Understand the organizational structure and duties of employees under the Unit Manager’s supervision.
• Demonstrate competence in supervision and leadership, a caring attitude, observational skills, good judgment, and emotional stability.
• Maintain good working relationships with other staff and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Be able to work with a dedicated team and demonstrate passion for serving others.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients on the assigned shift.
• Follow patients’ Comprehensive Care Plans.
• Assist the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in patient records when needed.
• Supervise direct resident care personnel on the assigned shift.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with applicable nursing practices and regulations.
