About The Position

Miller's Health Systems is hiring a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to serve as a Charge Nurse. The Charge Nurse is responsible for nursing care of patients during their shift, follows each patient's Comprehensive Care Plan, and assists the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate patient-record documentation as needed. The role supervises direct resident-care personnel on the shift and requires clinical competence, leadership, a caring attitude, and the ability to work well with staff and patients.

Requirements

• Currently licensed and registered to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Indiana.
• Successfully complete the pre-employment process and screening.
• Pass the physical examination given for gainful employment within the facility.
• Maintain a professional manner and appearance.
• Know nursing policies and procedures.
• Know medication administration, possible side effects, treatment administration, and local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to resident care.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and residents' physical, psychological, social, and medical needs.
• Understand the organizational structure and duties of employees under the Unit Manager's supervision.
• Demonstrate competence in supervision and leadership, a caring attitude, observance, good judgment, and emotional stability.
• Foster and maintain good working relationships with other staff.
• Follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients during the assigned shift.
• Follow the Comprehensive Care Plan for patients.
• Assist the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in patient records when needed.
• Supervise direct resident-care personnel on the shift.
