About The Position

Miller's Health Systems is hiring a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to serve as a Charge Nurse. The Charge Nurse is responsible for nursing care of patients during their shift, follows each patient's Comprehensive Care Plan, and assists the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in patient records when needed. The role also supervises direct resident-care personnel on the shift. The schedule is the weekend option, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Requirements

• Currently licensed and registered to practice as a professional nurse in the State of Indiana.
• Successfully complete the pre-employment process and screening.
• Pass the physical examination required for employment at the facility.
• Demonstrate knowledge of nursing policies and procedures; medication administration and possible side effects; treatment administration; and local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to resident care.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and residents' physical, psychological, social, and medical needs.
• Understand the organizational structure and duties of employees under the Unit Manager's supervision.
• Demonstrate competence in supervision and leadership.
• Have a caring attitude, be observant, and exercise good judgment and emotional stability.
• Maintain a good working relationship with other staff.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Professional manner and appearance.
• Able to work with a dedicated team.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients during the assigned shift.
• Follow patients' Comprehensive Care Plans.
• Assist the Unit Manager with thorough and accurate documentation in patient records when needed.
• Supervise direct resident-care personnel on the assigned shift.
• Administer medication and treatments in accordance with applicable nursing policies and procedures.
