About The Position

MultiCare Deaconess Hospital is seeking a staff Registered Nurse to provide emergency department nursing care as part of a hospital-based multidisciplinary team. The role uses specialized nursing knowledge and training to deliver care according to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols, while supporting patient-centered clinical decision-making and quality improvement. The position is 0.9 FTE, with day shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts and alternating weekends. Deaconess Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care hospital serving the Spokane region and includes a Level III Trauma Center and emergency services.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS).
At least one year of emergency nursing experience is required; new graduate RNs and RNs without ED experience are directed to Residency or Fellowship opportunities.
Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required by the department-specific requirements.
Certification requirements may include ACLS, NALS, PALS, TNCC, or NRP, as required by the facility or department.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
Certification in a specialty area preferred.
One year of experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating care on an ongoing basis.
Use nursing education and experience to provide care through the nursing process in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
Collaborate with the nursing team to improve quality of care and patient experience and reduce costs.
Foster a learning environment for patients, families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team.
Advocate for ethical, holistic care that promotes patient autonomy, dignity, and health across diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
