Registered Nurse (RN) - Free Standing Emergency Department - Deaconess
About The Position
MultiCare is seeking a staff Registered Nurse to join the hospital-based team at Deaconess, working in the Free Standing Emergency Department. The RN applies specialized training, knowledge, and nursing care within a multidisciplinary approach. Nurses at MultiCare participate in clinical decision-making, communicate openly with colleagues, receive support for professional development, and contribute to the future of nursing at the organization. The role is listed at 0.9 FTE, with night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts and alternating weekends. At least one year of emergency nursing experience is required; new graduate RNs and RNs without ED experience are directed to residency or fellowship opportunities. Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are required.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse license in Washington State or a Multistate License endorsement.
- Active BLS certification.
- Active ACLS and PALS certifications are required for this department.
- At least one year of emergency nursing experience is required.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Certification in a specialty area.
- One year of experience in an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
- Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, and evaluating care on an ongoing basis.
- Use nursing education and experience to deliver care through the nursing process in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to improve quality of care and patient experience and reduce costs.
- Foster a learning environment for patients and families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team.
- Advocate for ethical, holistic care that promotes patient autonomy, dignity, and health across diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
