Griffin Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for its Breast Surgery department. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. The Breast Surgery clinic is a specialized clinical environment that demands strong assessment skills, complex patient triage, and multidisciplinary coordination. RNs in this role will perform full assessments, make independent clinical judgments, and provide essential support for patients undergoing breast surgery. This includes managing post-operative complications, lymphedema symptoms, drain issues, signs of infection, and acute changes requiring rapid decision-making. The role involves triaging patients for issues such as post-op pain, new masses, abnormal imaging follow-up, and chemotherapy or radiation-related symptoms. RNs will also support in-office procedures like seroma aspirations, drain management, suture/staple removal, complex wound care, and assisting in biopsies. Furthermore, the position requires coordination with oncology, genetics, plastics, and radiology, as well as reviewing pathology and managing fast-track imaging notifications. Extensive patient education and psychosocial support are crucial, covering cancer diagnoses, surgical options, drain care, recovery expectations, and risk-reduction strategies. RNs will ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and compliance requirements, including Commission on Cancer guidelines, nurse practice acts, and oncology/surgical protocols. The nurse will play a critical role in communicating imaging and pathology results directly to patients, providing timely education, emotional support, and continuity of care.
