About The Position

The Revenue Cycle Referral Coordinator works directly with patients, physicians and physician teams, and insurance companies to obtain authorizations and referrals for physician, imaging, rehabilitation, infusion therapy, radiation oncology, and surgery appointments for both physician and facility services. The role follows department policies and procedures for verifying eligibility and benefits, determining prior authorization requirements, and completing other financial-clearance duties. Authorizations and referrals must be obtained promptly, with their status clearly documented in relevant systems. Financial-clearance issues must be escalated to the supervisor in a timely manner. The coordinator should have knowledge related to their assigned field of support.
