About The Position

As the Retail Supervisor at RWB Thrift, you will support the Retail Manager and oversee day-to-day sales-floor operations. You will work with the retail team to maintain store standards, provide excellent customer service, and achieve sales targets. With guidance from the Retail Manager, you will supervise retail activities, coach and develop team members, and help ensure efficient cashier operations and floor management. You will also contribute to improving the customer shopping experience, implementing sales strategies, and supporting the success of thrift store operations.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Basic computer skills, including MS Office, Teams, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments within given instructions, routines, and standard practices.
• Ability to perform essential job functions safely and meet qualitative and quantitative productivity requirements.
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 lbs and frequently exert up to 25 lbs of force.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform regular repetitive motions and manual tasks.
• Ability to maintain balance on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces and while performing agile tasks.
• Visual clarity at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more.
• Must wear closed-toe shoes for safety.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, busy, noisy, and brightly lit retail and production environment.
• Ability to interact regularly with customers, donors, and coworkers, and to switch tasks or departments and work in assigned areas as operational needs require.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in both English and Spanish.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous thrift, retail, warehouse, or customer-facing experience; experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day sales-floor operations, ensuring adherence to store standards, efficient product processing, and effective customer service under the guidance of the Retail Manager.
• Supervise and mentor retail team members, providing ongoing coaching to improve performance and foster a positive work environment.
• Ensure excellent customer service by handling inquiries and resolving issues promptly and effectively.
• Oversee sales-floor inventory, ensuring products are well-stocked, appropriately merchandised, and accurately priced to meet customer demand and sales targets.
• Supervise cashier operations, including transaction processing and compliance with cash-handling procedures.
• Review key reports, learn departmental goals, and contribute to performance metrics with guidance from the Retail Manager.
• Collaborate with the Retail Manager to implement sales strategies, optimize productivity, and contribute to the success of thrift store operations.
