About The Position

The Retail Supervisor supports the Lakeshore Learning Store’s sales, customer service, team development, and operational goals. The role helps develop a first-class sales team, implement plans to maximize store sales, and provide customers with a memorable retail experience in a fast-paced environment. Supervisors lead by example, reinforce the company’s service standards, and contribute to a welcoming and well-run store.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of related retail management experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Knowledge of retail point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Passion for excellent customer service.
• Positive, proactive approach to management and teamwork.
• Excellent communication and training skills.
• Exceptional time-management and organizational skills.
• Ability to demonstrate company standards and reinforce them with the team.
• Strong desire to recognize and reward achievements.
• Ability to give regular, clear feedback and to provide and receive constructive criticism.
• Ability to multitask to meet simultaneous demands.

Responsibilities

• Support recruitment and development of the sales team.
• Support training and development of new sales associates.
• Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to team members.
• Help drive workplace engagement and motivation within the store.
• Exceed customer service expectations and empower the team to follow customer service protocols.
• Seek and communicate customer feedback regarding school and home use of products.
• Build lasting relationships with customers.
• Train staff on new products and promotions.
• Monitor and maintain store presentation, retail policies and procedures, cleanliness, and safety standards.
• Assist with inventory management and stock control.
• Help with cash handling and reconciliation.
• Serve as a keyholder and support opening and closing the store and cash registers.
• Assist with employee scheduling and payroll approvals to support optimal staffing.
• Support sales initiatives, promotional activities, and store outreach programs that raise awareness and foster relationships.
