About The Position

The Retail Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership Team and provides leadership and direction to associate-level team members in an assigned area. The role promotes a positive environment, models professional behavior, and demonstrates Columbia Sportswear Company values. The supervisor oversees daily staff work, provides guidance, training, and coaching, and supervises an assigned department’s receiving, handling, replenishment, and processing activities. The role collaborates with store leadership on policies, procedures, and standards and helps ensure employees follow company procedures and quality standards.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in the position or specialization.
• Skill operating a point-of-sale (POS) system, other in-store computerized systems, and a telephone.
• Effective communication skills, including the ability to exchange ideas and information with store leaders, associates, and consumers.
• Availability to work a flexible retail schedule that may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day work of associate-level staff.
• Provide direction, guidance, training, and coaching to team members to support efficient operations, proper store procedures, and the in-store customer experience.
• Supervise the assigned department, including receiving, handling, replenishing, and processing, with responsibility for overseeing store profitability.
• Build and maintain store culture through teamwork, coaching, and leading by example.
• Collaborate with the store leadership team on policies, procedures, and standards for assigned areas.
• Maintain company standards and policies, ensure employees follow procedures and quality standards, and work to resolve problems or errors.
