About The Position
The Retail Service Specialist supports the Store Manager and Assistant Managers in sales, customer service, store appearance, and store operations. The role also assumes shift-management responsibilities when the Store Manager or Assistant Managers are absent. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply. The position leads store team members in delivering excellent service to retail and professional customers, oversees customer-service practices on the showroom floor, and ensures customer transactions and orders are handled accurately and promptly. It also supports store communications, merchandising, scheduling compliance, and opening and closing procedures, including securing the store, deposits, alarms, and delivery vehicles.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to obtain RSS Certification.
Nice To Haves
- Retail sales experience, preferably in auto parts.
- Knowledge of automotive systems and repair.
- ASE Certification.
- Fluency in multiple languages; Spanish is highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Lead store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
- Supervise customer service on the retail showroom, including team members’ execution of customer service programs such as Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, and Rock the Lot.
- Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy.
- Ensure buy online/ship to store orders, hub and store-to-store transfers, and DC add orders are processed promptly, and contact customers when shipments arrive as needed.
- Ensure special orders and outside purchases are handled efficiently and according to procedure, using the electronic outside purchase order ledger.
- Ensure retail customer returns and exchanges are processed efficiently and courteously; issue accurate refunds using the correct payment methods; and process or stage returned merchandise correctly in the returns area.
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before it leaves the store.
- Ensure Zipline messages are communicated and Image Maker and merchandising tasks are delegated and completed as assigned.
- Ensure team members follow the posted work schedule, obtain management approval for changes or deviations, and clock in and out according to company policy.
- Perform store opening and closing duties, including day-end procedures; verifying and securing money and deposits; preparing bank deposits as needed; ensuring night security lights are on; locking doors and securing the building; arming or disarming security alarms; and checking, securing, and locking delivery vehicles parked in the designated secure area.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
