About The Position

ScanScape is hiring part-time Retail Scan Associates to collect in-store data at assigned local retailers each week throughout the year, including holiday weeks. Associates visit designated stores and use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. They are also asked to provide the quantity of about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

Associates complete display scanning across the entire store each week, which can take several hours. Clients also frequently request additional information about products in main stocking locations through Custom Projects, which may add 1–2 hours of work per store in weeks when assigned. Associates must meet store deadlines and deliver accurate, dependable work.

This permanent part-time position averages 3–8 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours are frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. The role involves continuous physical activity, independence, and some flexibility in scheduling. Available routes include grocery, mass merchandise, and convenience stores in New Paltz, Kingston, and Saugerties, with workdays varying by store.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
