Retail Scan Associate (Dolgeville, NY 13329)
About The Position
ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit assigned local retail stores each week to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance. Associates use a downloadable mobile-phone app to scan barcodes throughout the store and provide quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. The role involves weekly Display Scanning throughout the entire store, which may take several hours, and frequently includes Custom Projects providing more specific product details in main stocking locations. These projects can add 1–2 hours of work per store in a given week. Associates must meet weekly deadlines and work reliably and accurately. The work is performed year-round for 52 weeks, including holiday weeks. The position offers workplace independence and some flexibility in working hours. Base hours average 2–6 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload; additional project hours are frequently assigned, with higher demand from January through June. Full scheduling details are reviewed during the interview.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
- Have a reliable vehicle and minimum state auto insurance coverage.
- Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
- Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
- Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
- Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
- Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
- Be tech savvy.
