Retail Scan Associate (Williamsburg, VA 23185)
About The Position
ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit assigned local retailers each week to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance. Associates use a downloadable mobile-phone app to scan barcodes and provide quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. The role covers assigned stores weekly for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Display scanning is conducted throughout the store and can take several hours. Custom Projects, which request additional product details in main stocking locations, occur almost every week and typically add 1–2 hours per store in those weeks. Base hours average 2–6 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload; additional special-project hours are frequently assigned, especially from January through June. Associates must meet weekly deadlines. The position offers workplace independence and some flexibility in scheduling, while requiring continuous physical activity during shifts.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
- Have a reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
- Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout a store.
- Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
- Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
- Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
- Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
- Be tech savvy.
