About The Position

ScanScape is hiring a permanent part-time Retail Scan Associate to collect in-store product data at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Associates visit a designated selection of grocery, convenience, drug, pet, and mass merchandise stores and use a downloadable mobile-phone app to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. For about 45% of scanned products, associates also provide quantity information. The data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

Associates report to stores within specified deadlines and complete display scanning throughout each store each week; this work can take several hours. Custom Projects requesting more detailed product information in main stocking locations occur almost every week and may add one to two hours per store. The role averages 6–13 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload, with additional project hours assigned during the year, especially from January through June. Scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. The work offers independence and some scheduling flexibility, but requires dependable, deadline-driven work and continuous physical activity during shifts.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout stores.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach six feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
