About The Position

ScanScape is hiring part-time Retail Scan Associates to perform in-store data collection at assigned local retailers each week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Associates visit designated stores and use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations throughout the store, including aisle end caps. They are asked to provide quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

Associates complete weekly Display Scanning throughout the entire store, which can take several hours. Clients also frequently request Custom Projects for more specific product details in main stocking locations. These projects occur almost every week and can add 30 minutes to two hours per store in a given week. Associates must meet store reporting deadlines and deliver accurate, dependable work.

The position averages 7–14 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically one to two hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. The role offers workplace independence and some flexibility in scheduling, balanced with client requirements and weekly deadlines. Work involves continuous physical activity throughout the shift. The listed route includes grocery and mass retail stores in West Springfield, Chicopee, and Springfield, Massachusetts, with workdays varying by store.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle with at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to remain on one’s feet for long periods and access products throughout the store.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach six feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Deadline-driven self-starter.
• Access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Tech savvy.
