About The Position

The Retail Scan Associate performs weekly in-store data collection at assigned local retail stores for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Store types may include grocery, convenience, drug, pet, and mass merchandise retailers, including national chains and independent stores. Associates use a downloadable mobile-phone app to scan barcodes in multiple locations throughout each store and provide quantity information for about 45% of the products scanned.

The role involves completing a weekly Display Scanning task throughout the entire store, which can take several hours. Custom Projects, which request more specific details about products in main stocking locations, occur almost every week and may add 1–2 hours of work per store in those weeks. Associates must report to stores by their assigned deadlines and deliver dependable, accurate work.

This permanent part-time role averages 7–12 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional project hours are frequently assigned during the year, with higher demand from January through June. Work is physically active and offers independence and some flexibility in scheduling, subject to store and client requirements. Store visits are scheduled weekly, including holiday weeks.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to remain on your feet for long periods while accessing products throughout the store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
