About The Position

Retail Scan Associates visit a designated selection of local stores each week to collect in-store product data. Using a downloadable app on a mobile phone, they scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps, and provide quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

The role covers assigned stores in grocery, convenience, drug, pet, and mass merchandise categories, including major national chains and independent retailers. Associates must report to stores within specified deadlines and perform assignments every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. The work offers independence and some scheduling flexibility, with continuous physical activity throughout the workday.

Base hours average 2–4 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional special-project work, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, is frequently assigned throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. Scheduling details are reviewed during the interview.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for extended periods and access products throughout a store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach six feet, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
