About The Position

ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit assigned local retail stores each week to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance. Associates use a downloadable mobile phone app to scan barcodes throughout each store and are asked to provide quantities for about 45% of the products scanned.

The position covers assigned stores weekly for 52 weeks per year, including holiday weeks. Weekly work includes scanning displays throughout the store, which can take several hours, as well as Custom Projects that clients request for more specific product details in main stocking locations. Custom Projects occur almost every week and can add 30 minutes to two hours of work per store. Associates must meet weekly deadlines and are expected to work independently, reliably, and with attention to quality.

The permanent part-time role averages 4–6 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects, with higher demand from January through June. Work involves continuous physical activity. Scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. Routes include stores in Mokena, Orland Park, and Homer Glen, Illinois, with available workdays varying by store.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Must be able to remain on their feet for long periods while accessing products throughout the store.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Must be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Must have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Must be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Must have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Must be tech savvy.
