About The Position

ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit designated local retailers each week to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance. Associates use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan products and provide quantity information for about 45% of the products scanned.

This is a permanent part-time position involving assigned in-store data collection every week throughout the year, including holiday weeks. The base workload averages 3–6 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional custom projects, typically adding 1–2 hours per week per store, are frequently assigned. The position offers workplace independence and some flexibility in working hours, while requiring reliable completion of weekly deadlines. Continuous physical activity is expected throughout the workday.

The route includes a convenience store in Ruther Glen, Virginia, and a mass retailer in Ashland, Virginia. Available workdays vary by store: Sunday through Thursday for the convenience store, and Sunday through Tuesday for the mass retailer. Scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. The role is subject to AI-assisted screening of resumes.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to remain on your feet for long periods while accessing products throughout a store.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Deadline-driven self-starter.
• Access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Tech savvy.
