About The Position

The Retail Scan Associate performs weekly in-store data collection at assigned local retailers throughout the year, including holiday weeks. Using a downloadable app on a mobile phone, the associate scans barcodes at numerous locations throughout each store and records quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. The role covers grocery, convenience, drug, pet, and mass merchandise retailers, including major national chains and independent stores.

Associates report to each assigned store within the specified deadline and complete a weekly Display Scanning task across the entire store, which can take several hours. Custom Projects, requested frequently by clients to gather more detailed information about products in main stocking locations, may add 1–2 hours per store in a given week. The position averages 7–10 base hours per week across stores, with additional hours often assigned for special projects, particularly from January through June. Scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. The work offers independence and some scheduling flexibility but requires continuous physical activity, dependability, and meeting weekly deadlines.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout a store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
