About The Position

Pathology Group of Louisiana (PGL), a physician-owned private practice with more than 50 years of experience, is seeking a fellowship-trained surgical pathologist for its office in Metairie, Louisiana. The physician will join a collegial, subspecialty-rich team in an office-based practice that provides outside frozen-section coverage for local surgery centers. The position is not hospital-based and involves minimal to no call. There are no autopsies or grossing duties: autopsies are outsourced, and Pathologists’ Assistants handle all grossing. The role includes tumor board and committee participation. J-1 visa sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

• Surgical pathology fellowship training.
• AP/CP board certified or board eligible.
• Louisiana medical license or eligibility to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Practice surgical pathology in PGL’s Metairie office.
• Provide outside frozen-section coverage for local surgery centers.
• Participate in tumor boards and committees.
