About The Position

ScanScape is hiring a permanent, part-time Retail Scan Associate to collect in-store data at assigned local retailers each week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. The role covers designated stores in Wheaton and Naperville, Illinois. Associates use a downloadable mobile-phone app to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations throughout each store, including aisle end caps. They are also asked to report quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

The base schedule averages 3–7 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Special projects are frequently assigned throughout the year, typically adding 1–2 hours per week per store, with higher demand from January through June. Associates must visit stores within specified deadlines, complete weekly display scans, and may perform custom projects that gather additional product details. Scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. The position involves continuous physical activity and offers workplace independence and some flexibility in hours.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
