About The Position

ScanScape is hiring part-time Retail Scan Associates to collect in-store data at assigned local retailers each week throughout the year, including holiday weeks. Associates visit designated stores and scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. For about 45% of scanned products, associates also provide quantity information. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance. Associates use a downloadable app on their mobile phone to scan barcodes throughout each store. The base workload averages 4–9 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional special projects are frequently assigned, typically adding 1–2 hours per week per store, with higher demand from January through June. Display scanning takes place every week and may take several hours to complete; custom projects requesting more specific product details occur almost every week. Full scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. The role offers independence and some flexibility in working hours, while requiring dependable, quality-driven work and adherence to weekly deadlines. The posted route is for grocery stores in Placerville, California, with work available Wednesday or Thursday. The position is expected to remain open for approximately 30 days, but may close earlier if sufficient qualified candidates are identified.
