About The Position

ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit a designated selection of stores each week to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance. Associates use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan barcodes and provide quantities for about 45% of the products scanned.

This is a permanent part-time role averaging 4–8 base hours per week across stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. Associates perform in-store data collection at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Display scanning covers the entire store and can take several hours; custom projects occur almost every week and may add 30 minutes to 2 hours of work per store. Scheduling details will be reviewed during the interview.

The role offers independence and some flexibility in working hours, alongside continuous physical activity throughout the workday. Associates must meet weekly deadlines and deliver accurate data. The route lists a grocery store in Goliad, Texas, available Wednesday and Thursday; a Walmart in Cuero, Texas, available Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday; and a convenience store in Cuero, Texas, available Sunday through Thursday.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to remain on your feet for long periods while accessing products throughout stores.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
