About The Position

ScanScape is hiring a permanent part-time Retail Scan Associate to collect in-store data at assigned local retailers each week throughout the year, including holiday weeks. Associates visit designated stores and use a downloadable mobile-phone app to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. They also provide quantity information for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed and used to improve product and retailer sales performance.

The weekly work includes display scanning throughout the entire store, which can take several hours, as well as custom projects requested by clients. Custom projects occur almost every week and may add 30 minutes to two hours of work per store. Associates must report to stores by the stated deadlines and deliver accurate, dependable work. The role offers workplace independence and some flexibility in scheduling, with continuous physical activity during work shifts.

Base hours average 0.15–0.45 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically one to two hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects, with higher demand from January through June. Full scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. The listed route is a convenience store in Hebbronville, Texas, with available workdays Sunday through Thursday.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and meet minimum state auto insurance coverage requirements.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach six feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
