Retail Sales Associate
About The Position
The Retail Sales Associate delivers value to AAA members while supporting overall sales performance. The role promotes AAA memberships, insurance referrals, and financial products; assists customers with travel planning; handles Roadside Assistance calls; and helps with cashiering, tag and title services, and ID services as needed. The position is based at 707 Southpark Boulevard, Suite 7, Colonial Heights, VA 23834. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., for a 37.5-hour work week, with no late nights or Sundays. Hourly pay is $16.37–$20.93, adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Employees may also earn an average of $162–$389 per month in performance-based incentive bonuses.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to build trust and explain value clearly.
- Comfort navigating multiple systems in a fast-paced environment.
- Satisfactory pre-employment and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and state- and/or vendor-specific screenings.
- Ability to obtain any necessary Membership license or other license required to perform the essential functions of the position.
Nice To Haves
- Previous sales experience.
- Basic geography knowledge.
- Notary Public designation, or willingness to obtain it within six months of employment.
Responsibilities
- Consistently promote and recommend AAA memberships, insurance referrals, and financial products.
- Assist customers with travel planning, including hotels, car rentals, and vacation packages.
- Manage and respond to Roadside Assistance calls throughout the day.
- Support team operations with cashiering, tag and title services, and ID services as needed.
