Seasonal Retail Sales and Recovery Associate, Downey Stonewood Center
About The Position
As a Retail Sales & Recovery Colleague, you create a welcoming shopping experience through genuine hospitality and attention to detail. You help keep the store clean, organized, and visually engaging by maintaining merchandise displays, tidying fitting rooms, and ensuring the sales floor is customer-ready. You contribute to a warm environment that encourages customers to return and support your team in achieving sales goals through consistent, high-quality service. You prepare for the day by checking that the sales floor is clean and organized and reviewing goals, new arrivals, top sellers, and promotions. You welcome customers and engage them in friendly, personal conversations. Throughout the day, you recover the sales floor and fitting rooms, update signs and pricing, and assist with merchandise moves. You share loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and provide a sincere thank-you. You collaborate with colleagues, take pride in your work, seek to improve, and work toward individual and store results. This is a seasonal position at Macy’s Downey Stonewood Center. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. The posting describes full-time colleagues as typically working 30 or more hours per week and part-time colleagues as typically working 12–24 hours per week.
Requirements
- Communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
- Have flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Enjoy meeting people, learning about them, and sharing information.
- Be resourceful, adaptable to changing priorities, able to work independently, and effective in a team.
- Be comfortable using electronic devices.
- Be able to talk, lift, move constantly, stand, and reach with arms and hands.
- Be able to stand for at least two consecutive hours and lift at least 25 pounds.
- Be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach above eye level.
- Have close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Frequently use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, and process register transactions.
