About The Position
The Retail Pet Store Associate provides customer service and pet care support in a neighborhood-focused retail environment. The role helps pet parents select products based on their pets’ needs, assists with store operations, and maintains a clean, welcoming space. The position offers pet care training and opportunities to grow into leadership or specialized store roles. Associates greet customers, share product recommendations, operate the point-of-sale system, and help customers use self-wash stations. They also stock and organize merchandise, maintain bathing supplies and displays, and may provide walk-in nail trims after training. The role involves a fast-paced retail setting and requires availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly manner.
- Help customers choose pet food and other products suited to their pets’ needs.
- Make thoughtful product recommendations.
- Operate the POS system, process transactions, and handle returns.
- Promote store specials, loyalty programs, and current offers.
- Stock shelves, manage inventory, and organize displays.
- Lift and stock bags of pet food and supplies.
- Assist customers with self-wash stations and explain the process.
- Restock bathing supplies and keep the store clean and welcoming.
- Provide occasional services such as walk-in nail trims after training.
