About The Position

Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events, including children’s birthday parties, craft classes, and other activities within a Michaels store. Provide guests with a fun, creative, and stress-free experience while delivering friendly customer service, helping customers find products, and ensuring a fast checkout. The role also supports store operations through truck unloading, stocking, merchandise recovery, cleanliness, and safety activities. Team members are cross-trained in Custom Framing selling and production.

Requirements

• Retail and/or customer service experience is required.
• Experience working with children and children’s events is required.
• Excellent people skills.
• Good written, verbal, and nonverbal communication and listening skills.
• Organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with guests of all ages and coworkers.
• Ability to remain standing for long periods and move throughout the store.
• Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch regularly.
• Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment.
• Applicants in the U.S. must satisfy applicable federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events, including children’s birthday parties, craft classes, and other activities.
• Engage guests of all ages and create an environment of fun and creativity.
• Demonstrate and instruct craft projects, perform face painting, and lead other activities.
• Facilitate party add-ons, such as goody bags and balloons, according to company standards.
• Communicate event details with clients and store team members.
• Answer emails, make phone calls, complete paperwork, and perform other administrative tasks as needed.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and needs, create backup or emergency plans, and ensure client satisfaction.
• Set up, break down, and clean before and after events while upholding cleanliness and safety standards.
• Help customers shop, locate products, and find solutions; provide a fast and friendly checkout experience.
• Explain the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
• Educate customers about the Voice of Customer survey.
• Assist with omnichannel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
• Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes.
• Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance, and perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
• Support shrink and safety programs and follow standard operating procedures, company programs, policies, and standards.
• Interact respectfully and positively with others, promote the organization’s vision and values, and serve as a role model for team members.
• Cross-train in Custom Framing selling and production.
• Participate in daily store cleaning, including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining restroom cleanliness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
