About The Position

Guitar Center’s Operations Associate supports store operations by shipping and receiving stock and shipments, administering daily tasks, and ensuring products are merchandised to provide customers with a great store experience. The role contributes to Guitar Center’s mission of nurturing lifelong musicians and helping people experience the joy of creating music. Successful associates collaborate with coworkers, focus on customer service, take initiative, manage priorities and details in a fast-paced environment, protect people and assets by following protocols, and learn the technology and retail systems needed for the job.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to work in a loud environment for 5–8 hours.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively with a team.
• Customer-service focus and ability to provide an excellent customer experience.
• Initiative, willingness to learn quickly, and interest in learning about the entire business.
• Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage priorities and complete tasks on time.
• Ability to learn and use technology, retail systems, equipment, and computer programs required for the role.
• Ability to follow protocols and guidelines to protect people and assets.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks related to inventory control.
• Ship and receive gear and other items.
• Prepare and execute inventory cycle counts.
• Stock and merchandise products according to a planogram.
• Print and place signage and price signs (POP).
• Handle cash.
• Maintain awareness of and help control shrink.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
