About The Position

AAA Club Alliance is hiring a full-time Retail Membership Sales Specialist for its retail location at 616 Albemarle Square, Charlottesville, VA 22901. The role focuses on selling and processing AAA memberships, maximizing opportunities to offer upgrades and add-ons, and supporting customers with membership-related questions. The specialist also provides backup assistance with cashiering, tag and title, and IDEMIA services if applicable.

The position pays a starting base rate of $18.24 to $23.33 per hour, adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors. It is also eligible for incentive pay, with an average payout of $162 to $500 per month. Store hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the work week is 37.5 hours, with no Sundays.

Requirements

• At least three years of sales and customer service experience.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Computer proficiency, including the ability to navigate multiple websites and programs.
• Notary Public designation or willingness to obtain it within six months of employment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Satisfactory pre-employment and post-employment screening results, including criminal, drug, and state- and/or vendor-specific screenings.
• Ability to obtain any necessary membership or other license required to perform the essential functions of the position.

Responsibilities

• Sell and process new AAA memberships, maximizing opportunities to upsell and cross-sell upgrades and add-ons.
• Engage members through in-store sales, responding to inquiries, and outbound calls.
• Welcome new members, present promotions, and initiate discussions about upgrade opportunities.
• Accurately document leads and customer interactions for future reference.
• Provide expert guidance and support for membership-related inquiries.
• Provide backup assistance with cashiering, tag and title, and IDEMIA services if applicable.
