About The Position

The Key Carrier role is an elevated extension of the Coordinator role. Key Carriers primarily perform Coordinator duties, alternating as store needs require, and occasionally act as Key Carrier, taking on a leadership role in maintaining all aspects of the store. The role models exceptional customer service and requires open availability, including nights and weekends. The Key Carrier creates a positive internal and external customer experience, promotes honesty and integrity, maintains confidentiality, and acts as Manager on Duty in accordance with company policies and procedures. The position supports store operations, Associate coaching and training, customer service, safety, and shrink-reduction efforts. The position is at Marshalls Store 0062, 1465 Woodbury Avenue, Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Starting pay is $18.00 to $18.50 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Requirements

Superior communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Create a positive internal and external customer experience and role-model exceptional customer service.
Promote honesty and integrity and maintain confidentiality.
Act as Manager on Duty while adhering to company policy and procedure.
Ensure the store team performs tasks and activities according to the store plan, prioritizing as needed.
Address immediate customer service issues and provide appropriate coaching to Associates.
Exercise discretion regarding customer service policies to satisfy customers.
Maintain accurate Associate coverage in service areas to support a positive customer experience.
Ensure Associates adhere to operational procedures.
Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed according to company guidelines.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities, and provide progress updates.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Provide feedback, recognition, and coaching to Associates.
Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness.
Ensure adherence to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Support and participate in shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
