About The Position

Plan and lead the activities of all stores within an assigned area of operation, with full profit and loss responsibility, while following company objectives and policies to achieve divisional and regional goals. Lead store teams in supporting Dollar General’s mission and values, administering human resources practices fairly, delivering superior customer service, meeting sales growth targets, managing inventory and store presentation, executing company objectives, scheduling effectively, developing employees, and protecting company assets. Identify and develop business opportunities across the operational area and communicate divisional and regional priorities to store teams. The role requires weekly travel in a company-provided vehicle, with limited overnight stays.

Requirements

At least four years of retail management experience with progressively greater responsibility.
Experience managing multi-unit operations in retail, grocery, or convenience store operations with full profit and loss responsibility.
Demonstrated results-oriented leadership and ability to model employee development and serve as a steward of the company’s mission and values.
Record of achieving performance goals and objectives.
Financial analysis skills sufficient to interpret operating statements and financial reports, manage budgets, and control inventory.
Ability to achieve results by leveraging resources, controlling expenses, managing merchandise, and communicating clear expectations.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and adaptability.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including customer service, appropriate responses under pressure, and sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
Ability to collaborate effectively with a team using a participative management style.
Current driver’s license and acceptable driving history.
Ability to travel weekly, including limited overnight stays.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Big-box retail management experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Travel weekly in a company-provided vehicle, with limited overnight stays.
