About The Position

The Retail Customer Service Associate provides accurate product knowledge and quality customer service. The position is scheduled up to 40 hours per week, with availability for days, evenings, and weekends. It does not currently supervise direct employees. The role requires prolonged standing and walking, and lifting up to 20 pounds at times; physical requirements may be completed with or without reasonable accommodation. Duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of customer service experience.
• At least 1 year of retail job experience.
• Product knowledge of items in the assigned department.
• Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends.
• Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods and lift up to 20 pounds at times, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service and treat team members, vendors, and customers with courtesy and respect.
• Greet and assist customers, answer questions, resolve concerns, and advise on project solutions and problems.
• Offer add-on sales when appropriate.
• Perform customer service tasks such as cutting keys, filling propane, operating the register, and assisting with rental transactions.
• Provide point-of-sale services, including operating the register, bagging items, helping load products, and answering inquiries.
• Recover the department daily by facing and organizing inventory and keeping aisles clean and unobstructed.
• Ensure products in the department are stocked properly.
• Monitor and adjust minimum and maximum order points, work back stock, make inventory adjustments, order inventory, and complete purchase orders and related paperwork.
• Complete cycle counts as required.
• Update prices as assigned.
• Open and close the store as assigned.
• Perform store maintenance as needed, including cleaning common areas, removing trash, sweeping the parking lot and sidewalks, and snow removal.
• Prioritize customers while working in the department.
• Maintain a safe working environment, stay aware of surroundings, and report safety issues or concerns to management.
• Assist other departments as necessary.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
