About The Position

Maintain the store’s overall appearance and cleanliness, recover the store to established standards, and deliver friendly customer service by helping customers find products. The role involves cleaning and maintaining assigned areas and equipment, deep-cleaning high-traffic areas, following approved procedures and applicable guidelines, and completing tasks assigned by a supervisor. Team members are expected to take initiative, maintain respectful interactions, and serve as positive role models. Other duties may include checkout and cash handling, promoting rewards programs and private-label credit cards, supporting Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship from Store processes, unloading trucks, stocking, planogram processes, and supporting shrink, safety, and company compliance programs. This role is based in a public retail store. Public areas are climate controlled, while some stock rooms may not be. Some outdoor work may be assigned, such as retrieving carts or unloading trucks. The position may involve standard commercial cleaners and chemicals, and work hours may include nights, weekends, and early mornings. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and meet applicable legal requirements.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years old.
Must satisfy applicable federal, state, and local legal requirements for the job.
Ability to remain standing for long periods.
Ability to move throughout the store.
Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch regularly.
Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment.

Responsibilities

Maintain store cleanliness, appearance, and recovery standards.
Provide friendly customer service and help customers shop and locate products.
Collect and dispose of trash according to approved procedures.
Dust and damp mop floors according to approved procedures.
Move equipment and products as needed for cleaning and return products to their correct placements.
Clean assigned areas using assigned materials and equipment.
Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water and detergents according to specifications when required.
Deep-clean bathrooms, breakrooms, entryways, and other high-traffic areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
Keep cleaning equipment neat and orderly and notify a supervisor of supply needs in advance.
Identify areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete the work.
Complete tasks assigned by a supervisor and follow applicable federal, state, and county guidelines.
Maintain positive and respectful interactions with team members and customers, including in difficult situations.
Project a positive image and serve as a role model for other team members.
When assigned, provide a fast and friendly checkout experience and handle cash according to standards.
When assigned, explain rewards and private-label credit card benefits and complete enrollments.
When assigned, assist with Buy Online Pickup in Store and Ship from Store processes.
When assigned, participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes.
Support shrink and safety programs.
Follow standard operating procedures and company programs, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
