About The Position

The Retail Clerk serves guests at the gift shop, ensuring purchases are handled courteously and the retail outlet remains clean and attractive. The role records transactions in the Point-of-Sale system and accurately handles cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, and comp transactions. It also involves stocking, pricing, merchandising, and recording inventory for the shop and vending machines, as well as maintaining the outlet and welcoming guests when other duties are complete. Monthly physical inventory requires lifting, counting, and using a stepladder. The position requires the ability to lift at least 25 pounds.

Requirements

• Retail or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Courteously serve guests with their purchases in a clean and attractive retail outlet.
• Record all transactions in the Point-of-Sale system.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, and comp transactions.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the retail outlet on a daily basis.
• Unpack, stock, and price merchandise as needed.
• Assist with stocking and recording stock for vending machines.
• Straighten, dust, and organize the retail outlet when there are no guests.
• Greet guests at the retail outlet entrance and encourage them to look around when other duties are complete.
• Know and follow all retail outlet policies and procedures.
• Complete monthly physical inventory, including lifting, counting, and using a stepladder.
• Merchandise products and new arrivals.
• Repack merchandise as seasons change and accurately record items as they are packed.
