About The Position

The Retail Clerk serves guests making purchases at the retail outlet and helps maintain a clean, attractive, and well-organized shop. The role records sales in the Point-of-Sale system and accurately handles cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, and comp transactions. The clerk stocks, prices, and merchandises products, assists with vending-machine inventory, and completes monthly physical inventory. The position also includes welcoming guests, keeping up with outlet policies and procedures, and repacking merchandise as seasons change.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent guest service skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Courteously serve guests making purchases in a clean and attractive retail outlet.
• Record all transactions properly in the Point-of-Sale system.
• Accurately handle cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, and comp transactions.
• Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the retail outlet each day.
• Unpack, stock, and price merchandise as needed.
• Assist with stocking vending machines and recording their stock.
• Straighten, dust, and organize the outlet when there are no guests.
• Greet guests at the retail outlet entrance and encourage them to browse when other duties are complete.
• Know and adhere to all retail outlet policies and procedures.
• Complete monthly physical inventory, including lifting, counting, and using a stepladder.
• Merchandise products and new arrivals.
• Repack seasonal merchandise and accurately record items as they are packed.
