About The Position

The Retail Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-care equipment and cleaning floors, glass, and windows, while maintaining cleanliness and recovery standards throughout the store. The associate also supports customer experience, merchandising, loss prevention, safety, and operational standards, and may be cross-trained in other store areas to meet business needs.

The position is based at TJ Maxx Store 0711, 3425 Thomasville Road, Tallahassee, Florida. The starting pay range is $15.00 to $15.50 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
• Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
• Follow company Health and Safety policies, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
• Cross-train and work in other store areas, such as the Backroom, Front End, and Sales Floor.
• Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
• Follow merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction practices.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates.
• Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Role-model customer experience practices with internal and external customers and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
