About The Position

The Cleaning Retail Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-cleaning equipment and cleaning floors, windows, and other store areas. The associate follows company operational, merchandising, health and safety, and loss prevention standards, supports store recovery, and is cross-trained to help in multiple areas as business needs require. The role also involves supporting customer experience practices, communicating with management and colleagues, and following labor laws and company policies. The position is at TJ Maxx Store 0134 in Wethersfield, Connecticut. The starting pay range is $16.94 to $17.44 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
Cross-train and work in other store areas, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor.
Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
Follow the company's merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Follow operational and loss prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction practices.
Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Model customer experience practices with internal and external customers.
Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
Perform other duties as assigned.
