Seasonal Retail Cashier & Sales Floor Support - Los Cerritos Center
About The Position
The Retail Cashier & Sales Floor Support employee provides excellent customer service at checkout and over the phone, assisting with sales, returns, and other transactions. The role supports an efficient, welcoming shopping experience by learning about fashion trends and products, helping customers make purchase decisions, and sharing information about Nordstrom events, gift cards, and the Nordstrom Rewards program. The employee also helps keep the cash wrap and sales floor organized, clean, and stocked, and may support order fulfillment and order pick-up in other areas of the store. The position is seasonal and located at Los Cerritos Center.
Requirements
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organization and follow-through.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Computer proficiency and interest in learning new computer applications.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Able to move continuously for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching and lifting items above the head.
- Regularly lift items weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities
- Assist customers over the phone and at checkout with sales, returns, and other transactions.
- Provide quick, easy, and enjoyable service by listening to customer needs and sharing an interest in fashion.
- Help keep the department runway ready by straightening, lightly cleaning, and restocking the cash wrap area and sales floor.
- Stay informed about key fashion trends and products to help customers with purchase decisions.
- Tell customers about upcoming events, Nordstrom gift cards, and the Nordstrom Rewards program.
- Flexibly support other store areas, including order fulfillment and order pick-up.
