Seasonal Retail Cashier & Sales Floor Support - Men's Apparel - Broadway Plaza
About The Position
The Retail Cashier & Sales Floor Support employee provides customer service at checkout and over the phone, assisting with sales, returns, and other transactions. The role supports a quick, easy, and enjoyable customer experience by listening to customer needs and sharing product and fashion knowledge. The employee helps keep the department ready for customers by straightening, lightly cleaning, and restocking the cash wrap and sales floor. The role also involves informing customers about upcoming events, Nordstrom gift cards, and the Nordstrom Rewards program, and flexibly assisting with order fulfillment, order pick-up, and other store areas as needed.
Requirements
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and customer requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organization and follow-through.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Computer proficiency and interest in learning new computer applications.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
- Ability to move continuously for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching.
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
- Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching and lifting items above the head.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers over the phone and at checkout with sales, returns, and other transactions.
- Deliver excellent customer service by listening to customer needs and sharing fashion knowledge.
- Help keep the department runway ready by straightening, lightly cleaning, and restocking the cash wrap area and sales floor.
- Stay informed about key fashion trends and products to assist customers with purchase decisions.
- Tell customers about upcoming events, Nordstrom gift cards, and the Nordstrom Rewards program.
- Support other store areas as needed, including order fulfillment and order pick-up.
