About The Position

The Bike Technician is a technically focused role centered on providing a differentiated customer experience to cyclists. The Bike Technician builds and repairs bicycles according to established procedures and uses personal experience, industry research, and trends to recommend products that meet customers’ needs. The role also supports sales and customer engagement, particularly in the Bike Department, and helps maintain merchandise presentation and department standards. The Bike Technician may assist with assembling exercise equipment and supports the broader store team as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and occasionally lift items weighing 15 to 35 pounds, up to five times per hour.
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of up to four hours.

• Prior experience building, repairing, and selling bicycles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide passionate customer service and create a world-class customer experience, especially in the Bike Department.
• Engage with customers and demonstrate knowledge, passion, dedication, and commitment to their sport or activity.
• Recommend products that align with customers’ needs, drawing on personal experience and industry research and trends.
• Promote company programs, including warranty sales, the Scorecard loyalty program, private-label credit cards, and seasonal promotions.
• Achieve sales goals through selling bicycles and related merchandise.
• Build and repair bicycles according to established procedures.
• Assist with assembling exercise equipment as needed.
• Maintain merchandise presentation standards and signage in the Bike Department according to company standards.
• Follow safety, loss-prevention, and standard operating procedures, and maintain confidentiality of company information.
• Support the store team across departments as needed and perform other tasks assigned by management.
